Happy WIAW!! Hope you all are making it through the week so far. My boss and co-worker are out the rest of the week, which means I am alone at work till Monday. Usually I’d like that, but it can be SO boring, and I don’t have a book to read, which makes it even worse.
The pancake craving is still out in full force, so I’ve been making mas amounts of protein pancakes and freezing them for when the urge hits.
Along with my pancakes I guzzled my new obsession
small coffee topped with frothed almond milk and stevia
The snack beast has been raging all week, which is really throwing me for a loop. My meals have been the same size, and typically are the same things, so the fact that I m hungrier than usual makes no sense to me. BUT, I’m just rolling with it.
Bloob protein smoothie – Chobani with bloobs and Chocolate O’s – WASA with turkey
Lunch actually involved something completely new to me. Remember those chicken sausages I bought yesterday at a great price? Well, I’ve honestly never bought sausage before, because I actually hate it. But I guess that just goes for beef and turkey, because this chicken sausage was super yummy!
Spaghetti squash topped with zucchini, breadcrumbs, feta cheese, chicken sausage and marinara
I think I can totally picture myself buying these sausages more often. They are only 90 calories with 14 grams of protein, and all the ingredients are clean. The trick now, is finding a way to get Ninja to eat them! Maybe like a hot dog?!
Dinner was random, and also completely filled with veggies
steamed peas, 1 hb egg, carrot and sweet potato fries along with honeyless “honey mustard (1 tsp dijon, splash water, few drops stevia)
My dinners typically look like this after a day of snacks. By dinner time I’m usually only a little bit hungry, so I try to just cover all the bases when it comes to nutrition. Of course sometimes I give in a just have cereal for dinner, but I was really craving veggies apparently, which NEVER happens. Those carrot and sweet tater fries hit the spot!

When you snack a lot, do you still have a normal dinner?
What new food have you tried recently?

Chicken sausage is delicious. I love it, and I don’t like sausage either. I think everything is better when chicken is involved
My appetite has been a little wonky lately, too! Maybe it’s just that time of year–my body seems a bit off. But that’s okay–I love snacking, and am usually good at making nutritious choices (fruits, veggies, nuts, etc.)
I’m the only one in my office that does what I do (my co-workers and bosses are spread all over the country), so I hear you about it getting a little lonely :-/ If you are looking for a good book, I’d recommend “The Weight of Silence.” I just read it and seriously couldn’t put it down.
Also, I read the caption for your smoothie too quickly and thought it said “Boob Protein Smoothie.” I was like “hmmm, that’s….different.” hahaha
I am a snack monster so I get that. those sausages sound so good, hopefully you can continue to find them and use them.
As much effort as I’ve been putting into bulking up my meals, at the end of the day I’m still a fiend for snacks… probably because I find them so much tastier than meals
And my appetite has been completely goofy lately too, so I’m definitely feeling you on that one!
OK this is the third post today that I have seen pancakes on. It must be a sign, yours look amazing!! I snack alllll theee times, but it always varies!! Usually a PB&J haha. Or crackers.
Mmmm your sausage meal looks so good! It’s really all about the type of sausage you get, seriously! I love Alder’s sausages as they have a big variety of meats and flavors
I love chicken sausage, too. Obviously I posted that recipe on my blog today using it, but I also love it in this recipe: http://notsodomesticated.com/orecchiette-pasta-with-sausage-and-peppers/ That is a favorite that I make all the time, and I think is not too shabby health-wise. Another option is just cooking it up with some onions, garlic, and sauteed garlic. Yum!
Those pancakes do look pretty fantastic m’dear… and chicken sausage mmm. Something I have not had in quite some time though! I like your idea with it, plus I have a spaghetti squash just waiting to be eaten
Have a great rest of your day Kat!
Yum! Those sweet potato fries sound delicious!
Chicken sausage is delicious!! And I am craving some sweet potato fries now
I’m craving that chicken sausage mix right about.. NOW!
Oh man, oh man! I am totally LOVIN’ the look of that lunch! What a great combination of flavors and textures! NOW I really need to find some of those sausages! You’re killing me smalls!
I’m with you on the smallish dinners after a long day of snacking…but of course, being on night shift, I’ve kind of given up on the whole “structured meal” way of thinking…I eat when I’m hungry, regardless of the time!
I tried Nature’s Path Blueberry Cinnamon Flax cereal while at the man-friend’s over the weekend and TOTALLY fell in love! I just went to the store yesterday to buy a box for myself and literally squealed when I saw that they were on sale 2/$5!!!
I love the idea of doing carrot and sweet potato fries! I’ve been snacking a lot too, so I hear ya on that!
I like chicken sausage, too! My boyfriend hates it, though
I just recently tried the ones that have apple in them and they were soooo good! I was surprised, because I actually thought I wasn’t going to like the apple.
I too love protein pancakes, I freeze mine and eat them when I’m too lazy to make my breakfast. I’m always looking for new protein pancake recipes. I tried chicken sausages with feta and spinach this week, I’m not sure if I liked them or not, it may just have been the flavoring of the dish
