Happy WIAW!! Hope you guys have been doing well. I’m still busy over here wrapped around 2 adorable little boys’ fingers. Because of that, my eats have been all over the place. Not necessarily in a bad way, but I definitely haven’t been doing much cooking at home! Yesterday Sissy and I had bit of a Girl’s Day and got massages and lunch together. Here’s how I ate healthy while out and about (ok, tried to eat healthy!)
Breakfast was the only meal I had at home. I got up at 6AM to workout, and after made myself a nice big breakfast since I knew Sissy and I wouldn’t be eating until noon.
My workout was only cardio yesterday, so I tried to keep the carbs high to hold me over until lunch. Gotta get that sloooow burn ya know?!
Post massage (which was glorious and much needed), Sissy and I headed to one of my favorite places, Daphne’s Greek Cafe. I got my usual, while Sissy got the falafel.
I had actually asked for a side salad but the lady messed up my order. Not that I really mind much, I love their roasted veggies (hence why I always order the veggie pita). Anyway, Sissy and I had a nice time just chatting like the crazy sisters we are and munched down our meals.
A few years back, I introduced Sissy to this Boba place (please tell me you guys know what Boba is!!). Apparently they don’t have any in Texas where she lives, so I made sure that we got her some so she could get her fix!
Holy freaking yum. I actually haven’t gotten one of these since the last time Sissy was here (over a year ago) so I really enjoyed this smoothie! After picking up our snack we jumped onto my couch and flipped on the Food Network Channel and dreamed up what Food Truck we would want to create one day (cause we’re crazy like that).
Once Sissy’s hubby arrived with the kiddos and Ninja got off of work, we planned out dinner. I was prepped and ready to cook (like always), but Ninja came through the door with one thing on his mind, In N’ Out. Now Sissy doesn’t have one of those in Texas, and she loooves that place, so In N’ Out for dinner it was! I, on the other hand, am not all about In N’ Out, and while I actually have never had one of their burgers, I find the smell and everything about that place unappealing. So I walked over to another one of my favorite places!
I felt slightly awkward sitting inside of In N’ Out surrounded by burgers, fries and shakes while I downed my salad, but hey, a girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do!
Now don’t freak out, we HAVEN’T been eating out for every meal every day. Most of the time when we meet up it has been after lunch or after dinner, so we have all ate separately already. BUT, we have been eating out alot, so it’s been a challenge to keep everything balanced. Like we talked about in my last post, I want to live my life in a healthy way, not be a slave to “clean” eating. Plus, when Sissy is here, she honestly rules my life. I’d be lying if I said that I had any input in anything that we do. I just go with the flow and play follow the leader, because this trip really is all about them!!
Do you have rules when it comes to eating out?
Are there certain restaurants you refuse to eat at? Most places I can settle on something, but NOT In N’ Out!
