Happy WIAW! First off, so glad that you were all ridiculously appalled at the article in my last post (not that I thought that anyone would actually be OK with that garbage). I’m not sure I will ever be 100% recovered from my ED thoughts and feelings, but I can 100% guarantee that the thought of getting a piece of fabric sewed on to my tongue will never cross my mind!
Despite weather changes (I’m looking at you 90 degree weather), seasonal flavors, or even body changes, there are certain foods that I seem to always be craving. Sure, it may be weird for me to crave things when I do (soup and bread craving? ALL. YEAR. ROUND.) but I refuse to push them aside simply because it doesn’t go with the season. I guess I’m just a rebel like that
Breakfasts – Cereal. As I’ve said before, cereal is just one of those foods that never seems to fill me up. Maybe it’s because I just enjoy eating it so much, but I can literally eat bowl after bowl without getting full (and yes, I have). I remember one Sunday after a really hard soccer game, I plopped on the couch, flipped on some football, filled my bowl with cereal, and went to town. The last thing I remember is shaking an empty box of cereal. Oops.
Lunch – Grilled cheese. Oh man am I a cheese fanatic. I seriously always want it in some shape or form. Growing up I had it in so many ways – egg & cheese burrito, homemade nachos, Mac N’ Cheese, tuna melt, and of course, grilled cheese.
Dinner – Bunless burgers. Being the carb freak that I am, I really have no idea why I prefer my burgers bunless. Maybe because I’m such a burger fan that I just want to taste the burger and it’s toppings? All I know is, I can only remember eating an entire burger WITH the bun once in the past year, and that was because I was too hungry to bother pulling it all apart. Hey when your hungry, all food rules tend to change!
Snacks – Yogurt. I remember when I thought yogurt was boring. I thought it was just about a spoon & the container. Oh thank you Blog World for educating me on the power of toppings! I feel like now it’s an experiment every time I each yogurt. Hmmmm what can I possibly put on it this time?
And these of course are just a few of the foods I seem to always be craving. There’s always nut butters, chocolate, watermelon….
What food do you crave the most?
Do you ever push aside a craving because it doesn’t fit the weather, season, ect?
