A round-up of the top ten most popular recipes of 2017 on Katalyst Health!
Happy day after Christmas, or as I so affectionately like to call it, The Most Depressing Day of the Year. I’m not ready to take down my Christmas tree yet guys – don’t let Ninja take it! Yes, my husband is one of those people who likes to literally start taking down Christmas decor on Christmas. I have to physically fight him to keep decorations up any longer than the day after. I just want to hold on to Christmas for as long as I can!
Anyway, Ninja and I are headed to San Fran right now for a much needed mini vacation with family, so I thought today would be the perfect day to recap the top recipes from the blog this year! I’ve gotta say though, you guys sure do love your chocolate. Out of the top 10 recipes I think only 3 of them don’t have chocolate in them. I’m not sure what that says about my recipes – maybe I need to diversify a little? 😉
The Top Recipes of 2017
Though these Superfood Chocolate Cups are basically just paleo chocolate fudge sprinkled with a few superfoods, I’ve gotta admit that I’m pretty excited about these bites of goodness being in the top spot! Not only are these chocolate cups perfect for squashing that chocolate craving but they also contain healthy fats, vitamins and minerals for a little extra nutrient boost. What more could you want from your dessert?!
These muffins 100% took me by surprise, not just in how amazing they turned out but also how high they ranked! Who would’ve thought that you guys like to hide your vegetables in baked goods too? 😉
My go-to, no-fail muffin.
These muffins have gotten rave reviews from everyone who’s made them or tried them. In fact, these muffins are my automatic go-to when I want to bake up something healthy but still dessert-like. I actually had plans on baking a batch for my class at the gym but ran out of time before the holidays. I’m thinking they would be perfect for Valentine’s Day though!
The colors of this picture makes me so happy. ‘MERICA!
Though this recipe calls for six eggs [yes – 6!] it is beyond worth it. These waffles are soft and fluffy but still perfectly crispy on the outside, just like any good waffle should be. Coconut flour can be tricky to work with but thankfully these waffles come together easily and have come out perfectly for me each time I’ve made them!
By far the most made Bites recipe by me this year.
I went through 3 batches of these beauties in two weeks and even made them as gifts to give out to my co-workers this year for Christmas! I know, pumpkin for Christmas? But I just couldn’t ignore how rich, fudgy and perfect these bites are so I had to share. I’m hoping they are loved them as much as I do!
I only posted this chocolate bark a few weeks back so I’m shocked to see it so high up on this list! Then again, it’s also really good, so I’m glad people are loving it.
Yet another treat that I made for my co-workers this year, this Gingerbread Quinoa Chocolate Bark is probably my favorite way to use quinoa now, though I can’t decide if that’s a good thing or not. I’m sort of eliminating some of the health benefits by coating it in chocolate but hey, if it gets more people to try quinoa then I think it’s worth it!
The fudginess is real y’all.
These blondies – I truly have no words for them. All I can say is that if you haven’t made them, you need to go get the recipe and make them now. Like, right now.
The popularity of these PB&J Banana Bars actually surprised me.
My love for all things PB&J runs deep [ reaaaal deep ] and I’m glad to see that others share my love for this traditional combo. I haven’t made these bars in a while, however I’ve got some overly ripe bananas just waiting to be baked with. You’d better believe the above Banana Blondies and these PB&J Banana Bars are getting baked real soon!
The recipe I dedicated to Ninja 🙂
Really though, is there any surprise that a cookie dough fudge made the top recipes list? I think not.
This is not your average mug of hot chocolate.
While there are plenty of delicious hot chocolate recipes out there, this one actually has a secret ingredient to give it a creamy & thick texture – sweet potato!! Yep – y’all need to give this one a try before the season is over. It’s the ultimate comforting drink!
I’ll be back later this week with a recap of my holiday and mini-vacation – as well as to catch up with all of you lovely people! I hope that you guys had a lovely Christmas and I can’t wait to dive back into this little blog of mine and get back into the kitchen. Until then I hope you guys get the chance to make a few of the recipes on this list – they are all equally fantastic, though I will admit I’m partial to a few 😉
What was your favorite thing you made this year?
How was your Christmas?
