Outdoor Total Body Workout

What a gorgeous day here in LA! These are the kind of days that really help me to appreciate my blessings. The sun is shinning, my family is healthy, and I’m alive. What more could I need?!

My lovely friend Meg posted this amazing recipe yesterday that I just HAD to try. I altered it a bit, but it’s pretty much the same!

Quinoa Flake Carrot Cake

  • 1/3 C quinoa flakes
  • 1 C almond milk
  • 1/2 C shredded carrots
  • 2 T flaxseeds
  • cinnamon
  • stevia


  • 1T cream cheese
  • stevia

Mix together everything but the topping ingredients and microwave for 2 minutes. Stir well. Combine stevia and cream cheese and spread on top

Find of the Week
After my breakfast I headed out to do my usual shopping. Check out my finds!



These babies are perfect for my games now that the weather is heating up. Water just isn’t even to get me through a 90 minute hot soccer game!


Each one was only $.99 each. How could I pass those up?!


This HUGE box of cereal (which is one of my favorites!) was also only $1. LOVE!

After unpacking all my groceries I got ready to get my sweat on. The weather was perfect for an outdoor workout, so I grabbed my hat and water bottle and headed to the back yard!

Outdoor Total Bodyweight Workout

Circuit 1:
pushups – 20
walk lunge – 10 each
jump lunge – 30 seconds

Circuit 2:
squat – 20
squat thrusts (a burpee without the pushup or jump!) – 10
burpees – 10

Your booty and legs should be pretty much toast after this! Mine were at least. I then grabbed my soccer ball and did some dribbling and juggling.

I recovered from my sweaty workout with my usual giant protein smoothie


naner, raspberries, chocolate protein powder, cocoa powder, kale and ice

And now I’m off to get some work done. And by work I mean baking for my co-worker!

Favorite outdoor workout? Playing a sport with friends, bootcamp, or something else?

    I’ve tried the cookie dough in a bowl that people have talked about before, but never carrot cake! Love it!!

    Favorite outdoor workout is easily running. I’m especially loving it since moving to Georgia and getting to run on some fun trails!

    Soo funny you mentioned the mini ab definition because before I even read that line I was thinking, “WHOA there abs!!” You look great! Oh and this delicious carrot cake mix looks oh so yummy.

    I’m so jealous of your $1 finds! NOT FAIR! haha but those juices look delish!

    I like running, biking, pretty much anything outdoors! Brittany (eatingbirdfood.com) and I actually went for a run this morning and it was so nice!
