Holy Tummy Ache. I hope you all survived Halloween!!I’m suffering a bit today. I didn’t even eat that much candy, I think my body just isn’t used to that stuff! I’m definitely feeling sluggish and gross today. I’m looking forward to a nice long run and plenty of water to clean out my sugar filled veins!

Let’s recap Halloween 2012!
Ninja and I work this thing called Fall Fest at our church each year. Ninja’s mom is the Children’s Director at our church, and she throws the Fall Fest so that parents have a safe place to take their kids on Halloween night to play games, get their faces painted, and eat plenty of candy. My mother in law asked me to bake some cookies for one of the games, so of course I happily obliged!
Reese’s Peanut Butter Cookies
Made with applesauce, wheat flour and oats, the kiddos will never know these aren’t Tollhouse!
Ingredients:
-
1/2 C butter
-
1/3 C applesauce
-
1 C white sugar
-
1/2 C brown sugar
-
3/4 C flax milk
-
2 tsp vanilla
-
1 C whole wheat pastry flour
-
1 1/2 C unbleached white flour
-
1 1/4 C oats
-
1 tsp baking powder
-
1 tsp baking soda
-
1 bag mini Reese’s, chopped
Preheat oven to 350. Cream together butter, applesauce and sugars. Once mixed, add milk and vanilla. Mix in another bowl flours, oats, baking powder and baking soda. Add to wet. Stir in Reese’s. Bake for about 10-15 minutes.
Ninja literally BEGGED me to save some of these for him. He was very sad when I told him they belonged to the little kiddos. I let him have about 3 of them, and he was seriously hooked. I guess I’ll be baking these cookies again very soon!
The coolest part about Fall Fest this year, was that Ninja’s mommy asked us to create our own booth and game. Ninja and I put our heads together, and this is what we came up with!
Ninja and I had such a blast putting this game together. He built it, painted it, and I glued on all the spider heads, eyes and legs. Oh and the kids totally loved it. I would say our game was the most popular one by far!
Oh and my dream finally came true
I’m married to a cowboy!
Notice the Dr. Pepper in his hand? Let’s not even discuss how many of those cans he downed last night. I shiver just thinking about it…
This is one of the girl’s in my High school group. She may or may not be my favorite. Shhhh don’t tell the others!
My friend who works in the youth group with me. She was a moose for Halloween!
And of course the night wasn’t complete without some of this….![]()
This was our candy pumpkin for the kiddos who played our game. I may or may not have stolen a few Reese’s.
I also snacked on some popcorn and drank tons of water, but am still feeling not so great today. But last night? Well last night I felt great. And I felt free. I just munched on candy, laughed with my friends, and watched little kids play games with nothing but joy on their faces.
Is there anything better than that?

How was your Halloween?
Did you dress up? If so, what?

Those cookies look awesome!!! Reese’s are my favorite!
What a great recap! Looks like a fun time! The cookie recipe looks really great too!! Have a happy Thursday! Spa <3
Very cute game! I’m HORRIBLE at any type of toss games– I’m more of a “guess how many jellybeans are in the jar” type of girl
Looks like such a fun night! Reminds me a lot of the carnivals that they used to throw when i was in grade school. Ahhhh the good old days. I wish my church did something like this, but there’s no one willing to step up and put it together. Hmmmm. Maybe it’s something to look into. And those cookies… oh.my.gawl… they look delicious (well, apart from the whole peanut butter bit
). I love that you had a great time and didn’t stress, because that’s really what life is all about
I wish I had a tummy ache from halloween, not this year, no candy. so sad! I usually am a halloween lover and take full advantage of this holiday
ahhhh what a cute and fun game! haha I love how you guys made it look.
And yesterday we had something similar, just with not too many games or face painting, but we decked out our trunks and gave away candy! While sharing about God to those who’d listen. So cool to see churches doing stuff like this! And you guys look so cute dressed like that.
THOSE cookies..NO! Those look so good. I am drooling. My Halloween was great, I passed out candy for a bit and then went to a haunted house where I proceeded to almost pee my pants twice!
Woah! Looks like an awesome Halloween. Those cookies look killer!!
