Snack your way through the Big Game with these Gluten-Free SuperBowl Snacks & Apps!
It’s almost Game Day! Do you know what you’re making yet?
As a huge football loving family the Super Bowl is a pretty big deal for my family. That being said, the Super Bowl is also a depressing day for me because of what it represents – the last day of football season! Thankfully I’m an equal opportunist when it comes to sports and still have hockey, tennis, soccer and baseball to watch but nothing says Sunday afternoons like football and food, am I right? 😉
During last year’s Super Bowl I was still kind of finding my groove in the gluten-free world so I was a bit skiddish in regards of what to make. Not so this year! I’ve rounded up some of my favorite gluten-free SuperBowl snacks & apps to share with you guys – a lot of which I have either made during this football season or plan to make this SuperBowl Sunday!
So whether or not you plan on watching the Big Game for the actual game or are just in it for the commercials, this list has something tasty for everyone!
Gluten-Free SuperBowl Snacks & Apps
What’s a game day without some popcorn? This Sea Salt & Lime Popcorn is still one of my all-time favorite snacks. I make it almost every time Ninja is out of town and I stay up all night watching the Hallmark channel and Sports Center [yes, in that order].
Chex mix should seriously be called “Crack” Mix. Does anyone know how to stop at a serving? Better yet – does anyone even know what a serving is? I’m down with the serving size being the entire batch. Does that work for you?
Why should garbonzo beans get all the glory? I absolutely love utilizing beans in recipes, especially in hummus! Pair this dip with some veggies and chips and you’ve got yourself one heck of a snack plate!
I made these vegan BBQ wings for last year’s Super Bowl and they were a hit. Needless to say they will definitely be on the list to make again! Although I’m going to either double or triple the batch this time because they didn’t even make it to the end of the 1st quarter last year!
I absolutely love taco dip [also known as 7 layer dip]. I could probably finish the entire thing myself with nothing but a fork and a bib to catch any loose morsels that try to escape.
A snack that I’ve already made several times this football season, these stuffed mini peppers are stinkin’ incredible. I could eat the entire batch by myself easily, but thankfully my family loves them just as much as I do!
Is there nothing cauliflower can’t do?! I love this idea of cauliflower bread sticks and can imagine myself getting lost in their cheesy goodness!
Ohhhh pizza. Pizza and football go hand in hand [just check sponsorships] but buying gluten-free pizza from a delivery place or even grocery store can get pricey. Instead, how about making your own little gluten-free pizza bites at home?
Load these babies up!
What’s a party without some nachos? Though I have a feeling that Daddy and Brother will be asking for my infamous BBQ pork nachos [so good, ya’ll!] if they don’t you can bet I will be whipping up these loaded sweet potatoes nachos!
I’m not a jalapeno fan [seriously I’m a spice wuss!] but both Daddy and Little Bro love to burn their faces off, so this recipe is all for them! Though I must say that this cheesy goodness sounds downright amazing.
So there you have it! Just a few simple gluten-free snacks & apps that will fit perfectly into your SuperBow party spread. I hope you enjoy the Big Game this weekend [or at least the commercials!] – you’d better believe my family and I will be!
