With September coming to an end this weekend, it’s time to recap the month with some Currents! And with October now here, has anyone started their Christmas shopping yet? I always tell myself to start early and yet it never happens…
First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream & Josie Maran Argan Oil
Though the weather is still in the 90’s during the day, the night’s have thankfully started to dip into cooler temperatures. Though our electric bill is thankful for that, my skin is not. I have suuuuper sensitive skin so I have to be careful what I put on it, but in the winter months it feels like nothing can keep it hydrated. That is until I found the First Aid Beauty Repair Cream! Y’all I swear by this stuff. It is incredible – thick but not heavy and it doesn’t cause breakouts. #obsessed
A new purchase for me this month was Josie Maran’s Argan Oil. Though the First Aid Beauty Repair Cream does a great job on its own, I wanted to add a bit more oomph for when winter really hits us. So far I really love the oil. I’ve been adding a few drops to the First Aid Beauty Repair Cream each night as a sort of night cream and I wake up with smooth, hydrated skin!
Wow – I think that’s the most I’ve ever talked about skincare products before…
If you follow me on Instagram this shouldn’t come as much of a surprise.
Though I can feel the oatmeal craving brewing, I’ve been reaching for toast more and more due to the ease of it. Normally with my oats I like to make the stovetop method with egg whites so that calls for more cooking time, where as with toast it’s all ready to go in under 5 minutes! And after I get home from the gym I am normally ready to eat my entire fridge, so quick is pretty important.
Green tea, ACV, lemon & honey
I am currently in the midst of battling an incoming cold, so I’ve been sucking down this concoction multiple times a day to try to keep it away.
In the mug:
- 6 ounces hot water
- green tea bag
- 2 tablespoons room temperature ACV
- 1 squeeze fresh lemon
- 2 teaspoons honey
I don’t know what it is about this drink, but immediately after I drink it my sore throat goes away! Maybe the honey? Regardless, not only do I really enjoy the flavor but it also feels sooo good on my raw throat. If you guys ever feel a sore throat coming on give this a try!
Ok, ok, ok – I know that my obsession with this dude is getting a little bit out of hand but this song has been on repeat for me this month. Take a listen to it when you have the time.
“I have no control – I am just a person
But thank the Lord that I serve a God that’s perfect
I do not deserve the opportunity you’ve given me
I never knew what freedom was until I learned what prison means
I am not ashamed, I don’t care if they remember me
My life will always have a hole if you are not the center piece
Take me out of bondage, take all of my pride
If I don’t have a Savior, I don’t have nothing inside”
P.S. His new CD comes out next Friday!!
I don’t think I will ever be over this pizza.
Not only is it super simple to make with a homemade crust that requires only a few ingredients and less than 5 minutes to make, but it also has an incredible combination of flavors. Seriously yum.
Thankfully I have an extra crust stowed away in my freezer. Can you guess what I’m making tonight? 😉
Tomorrow is the 1st time since Ninja and I moved here two years ago that I am going to go out with a few girlfriends from the gym. Sad, right? I literally have no friends here outside of the gym, so I figured it was about time to step out of my box and ask if the ladies wanted to hang out with me outside of the gym. Thankfully they said yes!
This is a huge deal for me. As an introvert I tend to stay within my box and not risk putting myself out there, so this lunch date is something really special to me. Fingers crossed I don’t make too much of a fool of myself 😉
More canned pumpkin
I’ve been legit putting canned pumpkin into everything lately – smoothies, oatmeal, yogurt, baked goods, chocolate cups…
I don’t plan on sharing all of my pumpkin creations on the blog but just know that I am eating a ton of it!
Wanna know what Ninja got me for our 8 year anniversary? 🙂
Yes friends, I am that girl, the one who asks for fitness equipment for her anniversary. Though I already have 2 kettlebells [a 15lb and a 20lb] they are too light now for the main exercises that I love to perform, such as swings, deadlifts, goblet squats, etc. I use them mostly for core/accessory work now and have been longing after a heavier bell for almost a year. I’m so excited to finally have one!
And that’s it for this month’s currents! On to October…
