These Chocolate Fudge Protein Bites are a rich & fudgy snack or treat. Made without any grains or gluten, these bites are a protein-packed sweet treat that will crush any chocolate craving!
Today marks a special day in my household – it’s Little Sissy’s birthday!
It also marks the start of the All Things Chocolate series that is happening here on the blog. Let me be clear though, this series is technically unofficial as I actually had no intentions of having nothing but chocolate recipes to post, however recent recipe development has been nothing but chocolate so I’m rolling with it!
But back to Little Sissy for a second.
My favorite little ginger turns 14 today [holy crap] so Ninja and I have plans on heading to Daddy’s tonight to celebrate. My baby sister turning 14 today is yet another reminder of how quickly time is flying by – I’m still not over Little Brother leaving for college and in just a few short months I’m going to have to watch Little Sissy graduate from 8th grade.
Needless to say I’m going to need a lot of chocolate. No, not to celebrate but instead to drown my sorrows of the fact that my siblings are literally outgrowing me by the day. Ugh – now I’m depressed.
Thankg goodness for these Chocolate Fudge Protein Bites.
Of which I totally just consumed three of. I seriously have zero willpower…
These little bites of heaven actually gave me quite a temper tantrum. While the recipe itself came together seamlessly, the photos did not. I re-shot these chocolate fudge protein bites three times – THREE! – and ended up going back to the original photos in the end anyway. Ugh.
With all of the chocolate recipes that I have coming up [and it’s quite a lot ] I started to notice a repetitive nature to the photos and the backgrounds, which is why I ultimately went back to clean, bright and white for these Bites.
Even then I still considered scraping these photos until I could shoot ones better suited, however I realized that I was probably just being far too hard on myself and needed to stop overanalyzing every little thing.
I mean they still look fudgy, delicious and perfectly rich – so what more should I be worried about? [ my inner food blogger brain is still currently freaking out ]
And while we are on the topic of my inner food blogger brain, I’m just warning you guys right now, the abundance of chocolate recipes that I have coming up is sort of ridiculous. Here’s my question though – do I have to stop posting them after Love Day? Obviously I’m not saying I’m going to stop posting chocolate forever on the blog, but after Love Day should the blog have a chocolate detox?
Though now that I think about it, maybe I’m the one who is going to need a chocolate detox…
Let’s get to the nitty gritty of these Chocolate Fudge Protein Bites though because even if the pictures are lacking this recipe is most definitely not.
These Bites are no-bake, grain-free, gluten-free & vegan while also being packed with filling, muscle-building protein and healthy fats. Oh, and did I mention the rich, fudgy texture yet? Because that definitely needs to be mentioned 😉
I’ve actually been using these Bites as more of a dessert than a protein bite, simply because the texture is so freaking fudgy that they make the perfect night time treat. And hey, sneaking in a little extra protein at night is never a bad thing! That being said, these Bites are a protein-packed healthy snack in a chocolate disguise and also make for the perfect mid-afternoon snack when energy levels are dipping and the cravings for all things food have begun. Trust me – I know that craving well.
With just five main ingredients, a few short minutes and only one bowl needed, these Chocolate Fudge Protein Bites are everything you could ever want them to be. Give them a try and let me know what you think!

Have you ever had a recipe [or something else!] give you so much trouble that you had to re-do it a few times to get it right?
