There’s something you guys should know about me. I’m a speed reader. No, not a skim reader. A person who literally finishes a book in a day or less.
The movie comes out in February around my birthday so I figured I should read it first before I saw the movie. Plus, I’m a big Nicholas Sparks fan. So, as soon as it arrived, I grabbed the book (and a homemade cookie) and sat on the couch. By 8PM I had finished the book.
Now let me explain something to you. I love books. Always have. Something I get from my daddy I guess. Growing up, Sissy would take me to the book store and we would be there all day. I would read 1 or 2 books, and buy another to take home. We’d literally be there for hours.
There are very few books I have read that I have taken longer than a few days to finish. I get so wrapped up in the characters, so involved in their stories, that I have to see how it all turns out. Half the time there is no way I could sleep without knowing the ending, so I stay up until the wee hours of the morning until the book is finished.
This book was no different. Heart wrenching, touching, brave, and thrilling, all wrapped into a love story. Now I’m obsessed and can’t wait to watch the movie, which I know by the trailer already has some pretty big differences it in, but that’s Hollywood.
Anyway, if you need a book to read, grab this one! There’s a nice twist at the end too.
Sometimes I feel like maybe you all are getting sick of my breakfasts, but then I remember this is my blog and I can post whatever the heck I want on it. So, sorry to say but you’re going to have to deal with my boring breakfasts!
Other Eats From The Day
I get hankering for burgers a lot, but I rarely have ground turkey in the house. Since I was craving one the other day I decided to put my creative mind to work and make up some vegetarian patties instead! I’ve been eating these non-stop since.
Black Bean Burgers
Simple but delicious. Perfect on top of a hamburger bun or even crumbled on a mexican salad
1 can black beans, mashed
1/4 C whole wheat breadcrumbs
1 clove garlic, minced
1 tsp chili powder
salt and pepper
I’ve been crumbling these over salads for work lunches, as well as pairing them with sweet potatoes and salsa. So many possibilities. The best way though? Has to be the good old standard burger. I think I now be craving summer time….
Are you a speed reader?
What’s your favorite book? Mine would have to be Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers or almost any Jodi Picoult book!
